Thanksgiving Fantasy Help

First off I hope everybody is enjoying their holiday this year and with that being said I hope if you have any players during these Thanksgivings Games  you have them in your Lineup …..don’t let turkey be the reason you missed out on some value because you were so gun-ho on cranberry sauce

So the slate of games for the Holiday are as follows :

Packers vs Lions

Raiders at Cowboys

Steelers vs Ravens

QBs- I expect Stafford , Romo, n Flynn to have decent games tomorrow ……I personally am starting Flynn tomorrow….if you have a stud QB you play them but I like Flynn its clearly big risk big reward but I think he is due for a big one

RBs – Of the 3 games tomorrow I like Reggie and Whoever is starting for Oakland tomorrow ….whether that is Jennings or DMC ….each can break one

WRs- Nelson, Jones, Megatron, Dez, …….Torrey is a decent play as well as he is a deep threat each game

TEs- Witten , Witten , Witten …..got it?

Defenses  – I wouldn’t touch any of these defenses……Ravens and Steelers will probably be a low scoring games but I think there are better options out there

PARKER and SMART show Out

Everyone is comparing this year’s NBA Draft to the 03 draft because of the amount of versatile and skilled players entering.  I think this will be one of the best drafts we’ve had since 03 but comparing it just seems a little bit over the top.  Do I even need to mention the class of 03? However if your an NBA GM and tanking is your philosophy, there are quite some quality gems.  This year all of us will have the enjoyment of watching four freshman takeover the basketball scene.  Julius Randle (Kentucky) Andrew Wiggins ( Kansas) Jabari Parker (Duke) and Aaron Gordon (Arizona) all have displayed their talent early into the basketball season.  Gordon doesn’t get as much publicity as he should, I strongly believe because he plays in the PAC-12 but trust me he will be consistent in your SC top ten this year.  I choose to display the Parker highlights because 3 of the 4 recruits all played and I think Parker had the best game despite losing to Kansas.  The 6’8 Chicago native in his hometown ceased the moment and put on a show.  He has a nice stroke from 3 and can score inside as well.  He is very versatile and has an NBA body,  his future looks the most promising of the 3 to me because of the skill set he already brings to the table.

Marcus Smart who was predicted to be a lottery pick last year chose to stay one more year and he is reaping the benefits from it.  The NBA is a guard driven league and if you want success you need great PG play.  And if a team wants to start to build around one he is your guy.  He has increased his percentage especially from 3 point range which is always a plus. But the aspect I’m most impressed with Smart is his physicality.  This is a 200 pound PG with range and can post up as you can see in the highlights above.  Whoever gets this kid next year will be lucky. Has All-Star written all over him.

Rose Hurt Again

After an MRI yesterday it was discovered that Rose suffered a right torn meniscus and will be out indefinitely.  This is sad news after the one time MVP missed a season from a torn ACL injury.  Timetables haven’t been determined just yet but this is consecutive knee injuries that will sideline the superstar.  I’m almost positive that he will be eager to get back on the court once he is cleared again.  This really makes it hard for Chicago once again because they were just getting accustomed to having him back in the lineup and setting the tone. Rose had shown flashes of his quickness at times but you could tell the rust hadn’t entirely worn off.  I wish he has a speedy recovery. We all start to wonder whether how the future of Rose will play out if this continues.

NFL – Week 12

This pic right here is so epic.  It literally is history in the present form, Brady and Manning will play against each other again tonight.  Two future Hall of Famers with records both above .500 will have the stage all to themselves in tonight’s Sunday Night Football game.  Brady has home field advantage and will be looking to get a win after suffering a loss from an emerging Panthers team last week.  The history behind the two is a bit overwhelming in a good way to say the least.  This has been the story all week and most anticipated match-up for week 12.  Aside from the quarterback duo, it is the home return of Wes Welker who spent several season with Patriots and co.  In the end I really like Denver in this game.  I think their defense is a little bit better then New England , and offensively they have more weapons who will get plenty of YAC.  It will be a close game and I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends in a game-winning FG as the quarterbacks bring out the best in each other.

Colts (7-3) at Cardinals (6-4) – The Colts are a tough team to analyze because of they have a combination of great wins and terrible losses.  That just comes with the territory of playing in the NFL. As we all know the Colts move with Andrew Luck, his play really dictates if they will win games or not.  And today he will face a tough defense in the Cardinals ranked 9th.  Now even though Arizona struggles offensively at times, they still do have Fitz who is BIG TIME.  Also, their defense and special teams literally can keep them in games.  I like Indy to get a road victory here and start to make a push of consecutive victories heading into playoffs.

Cowboys ( 5-5) at Giants (4-6) – Is this not the worse/ most interesting conference we have in football?  With a terrible start from basically every team in the conference who knows how this will play out?  The Giants actually started winning games, and the Cowboys are so dysfunctional I don’t know what to expect from them.  So how could I not have this as a GAME OF THE WEEK is the question.  I actually like Big Blue today at home at Met Life Stadium.  This should be a shootout between Romo and Manning, because the two of them both have a reputation for throwing a lot of passes.  And I don’t mean the 5 yard out routes either.  It will be interesting to see how this division looks in a few weeks.

FF HELP – IT IS WEEK 12 IF YOU ARE NOT PLAYOFF BOUND SHAME ON U ( I’M KIDDING IT HAPPENS ALWAYS NEXT YEAR)

QB- MANNING, BRADY, STAFFORD, CAM, MANNING (ELI), ROMO………DESPERATE – I LIKE GLENNON AND CASE TODAY AS WELL

RB – REGGIE, AP, FORTE, JENNINGS, BROWN, MORENO ……..IF YOU HAVE MORRIS YOU PLAY HIM BUT TOUGH SAN FRAN D THIS WEEK

WR – DEZ, CRUZ, ALL OF DENVER WR,  AMENDOLA, FITZ, BMARSH, MEGATRON ………… I LIKE JORDY, VJAX, AND TY AS WELL TODAY

TE- VERNON, GRONK, WITTEN , JULIUS, CAMERON, ………..I LIKE OLSON AND GATES AS WELL TODAY

GOOD LUCK TODAY

WEEK 11/ FF Help

Week 11 is here and the Martin case still hasn’t been resolved.  It looks like the end result will be him playing football and that I can live with.  I read a post by Matthew Berry last week describing how a lot of people live their life in fear. And its very understandable and a lot of us do it.  It was years ago when I decided not to, so if you happen to be reading this post today I encourage you to rid all your fear.  To stand up against your biggest obstacles, you will be amazed at how your confidence can help you overcome any conflict put in your way.  Now with that said the Giants who I humiliated at the beginning of the season are now on a win streak, go figure.  But this week features some must see games. Lets get to it shall we?!

Kansas City vs Denver – Well the number 1 defense will be playing the number 1 offense.  Does Kansas City remain undefeated?  I don’t think so.  Now granted I am a huge Peyton Manning fan, but I am not just supporting him as a fan.  Let’s be honest here for  a second, the Chiefs haven’t faced a QB of Manning’s level the entire season.  We are talking about a guy who calls multiple audibles at the line after reading the defense.  On top of that they are playing in Denver, I just don’t think the odds are in the Chiefs.  More importantly if they aren’t able to force turnovers and battle for field position, how will they score.  As great as the Broncos are offensively, they really aren’t horrible on defense.  So if Chiefs they can advance the ball at will they are in for a rude awakening.

Patriots at Panthers – The Patriots are starting to look like the Patriots again.  Tom Brady has finally got a healthy receiving core, and the GRONK is back.  They will be playing a Carolina team who is making a statement this year.  They are also on a winning streak and their defense is legit.  I think they find another way to hold off Brady and company in Carolina.  After not having such a great outing last week and the defense basically winning the game, I expect Cam to bounce back and have a Newton type game.

Niners at Saints – Kap has been scrutinized for his play as of late by all the media and analysts.  Poor guy, he will now have to travel to NOLA and square off against Brees.  Talking about a tough situation to be in.  I like the Saints in this situation, Brees is one of the most reliable QBs in today’s game.  I mean is that even debatable, like he is guaranteed at least 3 touchdowns a game rite?  San Fran will have to run the ball in order to be effective.  If they can control tempo they will have  a shot, but a team once known for their great defense I think gets handled by Brees.

FF HELP- WILL YOU BE MAKING PLAYOFFS??!!!

QB- STAFFORD, RG3,  FOLES, CASE , ANDY , RIVERS , WILSON, BREES, MANNING, BRADY, CAM – IF YOUR DESPERATE ELI MANNING WILL AIR IT OUT TODAY

RB – REGGIE, MORENO, FORTE, ALFRED, GIO, SHADY- I LIKE GORE, ELLINGTON, AND CHARLES AS WELL TODAY

WR – MEGATRON, GARCON, DESEAN, COOPER, FITZ, ANDRE , BMARSH , AJ , D THOMAS – I LIKE VJAX, GORDON, AND PERCY TODAY —YES I SAID PERCY HE IS ACTIVE TODAY I PLAY HIM DON’T KID YOURSELVES HERE

TE- CAMERON, THOMAS, GRONK, GRAHAM, REED, WITTEN , DAVIS – THESE ARE LIKE CORE GUYS EVERY WEEK AT THIS POINT

DEFENSES – SEAHWAKS, CARDS, BEARS , BENGALS – I ALSO LIKE TEXANS TODAY AGAINST OAKLAND

WEEK 10 PREVIEW / FANTASY HELPP

It’s week 10 already?! Where did the time go? In previous posts I basically made fun of the teams that were suffering.  However this week the story catching the most attention is about Miami linemen Jonathan Martin and Richie Incognito .  Listen , I am not a fan of bullying on any level.  And each day new details are being discovered. In the end I just hope Martin returns to the NFL.  I really hope this gets resolved, I am not even sure what is the proper resolution for something of this matter.  I really just wish it was kept in house because the media can be brutal and will drag the situation out longer then it needs to be.  How can the Dolphins focus on football with this type of stuff lingering in the locker room? Anyways, on to the games of the week shall we?

Panthers(5-3) at 49ers(6-2) – Cam vs Kap? Yes please! The Panthers are relevant , I know go figure. And they will travel to San Fran to play against the number one rushing team in the league.  This team will be determined on the defensive side.  The Panthers need to stop Kap and Gore from the run and pound game. If this happens I think Carolina could steal one on the road. Cam is looking his best and I think he can lead the Panthers to victory.

Cowboys (5-4) at Saints (6-2) – Romo will be trying to compete with Drew Brees.  Let me correct that an angry Drew Brees who just lost to the Jets in New Jersey last weekend.  Each team are offensive forces and I expect this to be a shootout.  The last time I thought a game was going to be a shootout turned into a game of FGs.  I hope I am right this time. I think the Saints win this game by a FG. Quick question over or under on three interceptions by Romo?

Bills(3-6) at Steelers (2-6) – I know I know. Two teams that are below .500. Well yes, that’s exactly why it will be a good game.  Each team is basically begging for a victory.  And CJ Spiller actually looked like CJ Spiller last week. I think Pitt will win this game and Big Ben will have a solid afternoon.  I just don’t think it will be as easy as everybody thinks it will be.  This game can go down to wire and I will not be surprised.

FANTASY FOOTBALL HELP!!!!

By week 10 I hope you don’t have a record like the Steelers or Bills but either way lets get to it

QB- CAM,  T PRYOR,  LUCK, RIVERS , MANNING, ROMO, BREES …..OTHER DECENT PLAYS – KAP, STAFFORD, DALTON, CUTLER

RB- LYNCH, MORENO, BUSH, FORTE, STACY, TATE ……..OTHER DECENT PLAYS – MIKE JAMES, GIO,

WR- SURPRISINGLY WRs have been the Cream of the Crop this year in Week 10 I like

AJ, MEGATRON, WELKER, MARSHALL, TY, ANTONIO, DESEAN , KEENAN ALLEN…….OTHER DECENT PLAYS – VJAX, COOPER, FITZ, HARRY DOUGLAS

GOOD LUCK PPL

NBA So FAR

With the NBA season in full effect, I am one happy camper.  As I have written before this will be one of the most anticipated seasons in recent years.  With an intense NBA finals last year everybody will be anxious to see who will be holding the trophy at the end of the season.  I will share my thoughts on some teams that have got a lot of attention from each conference. Mind you it is early so things will likely change as the season progresses.

Eastern Conference – The five teams that have been talked about the most are the Heat, Pacers, Bulls, Knicks, Nets

Heat – Defending champs and in glimpses have looked like the champs. They have the habit of playing to their competition and because of it lost to a rebuilding 76ers team.  The Heat have the on button and when they hit the switch they turn up the defensive pressure and are at their best. You can tell it is early and they really don’t take these games seriously.  LBJ looks as if he is only getting better and that thought alone is scary.

Bulls- The Bulls with Rose haven’t gotten it all together yet.  The team is adjusting to having Rose back in the lineup and will take time to develop chemistry on the offensive end.  They are still a very physical team and will be a handful come playoffs.  Rose has flashed some quick and explosive moves but hasn’t been his MVP self yet.

Pacers – Undefeated – I think that says it all

Nets – The Nets have suffered losses from Orlando and Washington.  With time the team will get better.  I think people gave this team to much credit and too much high expectations after the rebuilding that took place this off summer.  What you have to realize is that they won’t gel instantly, it takes time.  But with the right players and veterans this team will get better.

Knicks – The Knicks have also had a slow start.  To add insult they just lost Tyson Chandler for about 4-6 weeks.  The team will get back JR Smith and they desperately need his offense.  Bargs will play the 5 until Tyson returns.  The Knicks will have work to do, and without their center it will be about effort on the defensive end.

WESTERN CONFERENCE

Rockets – The Rockets landed the free agent of the year D12 and he looks healthy.  The Rockets still have not found a way to utilize the big man yet from what I’ve seen so far. But they will make noise because they are young and big

Clippers – Doc Rivers has installed an offense that fits the Clippers perfectly. The biggest mission this year is to have DJ be an defensive force in the middle. And if that happens they can make a trip to the Western Conference Finals.

Thunder – With Westbrook back the Thunder pick up from where they left off.  The key to the team this year will be the role players and if they can provide quality minutes.  Adams, Jackson and Lamb have looked good so far this season.

Wolves – The wolves have a sneaky good team this year.  LOVE is a guaranteed double-double every night and have added a great scorer in Kevin Martin to the mix.

There are a lot of interesting teams this year.  It will literally take me pages to evaluate each one.  But these were the teams I have been able to see so far.  I will continue to write and share my thoughts as the season shapes.

Week 9 Preview / Fantasy Football help

OK I didn’t get the chance to post about week 8 please forgive me.  But I am back on it, and ready to go for week 9.  Quick question, how pissed do you think Reevis is right now? I guess you live and you learn.  As much as I loved making fun of the Giants and their horrible season, I won’t.  But Justin Blackmon, dude I don’t understand you.  Getting suspended once, cool, getting suspended twice in one year? Not sure how GMs will respond to that type of behavior. (bitter fantasy owner ) Well back to the scheduled programming and lets preview the games of the week for week 9.

Falcons (2-5) vs Panthers (4-3) – In case you guys haven’t been keeping up this guy named Cam Newton has been playing some pretty good football. And now he gets to test it against Atlanta, who despite being 2-5 is a pretty solid football team.  This is expected to be a shoot out with Cam battling Matt Ryan in Carolina.  I say the Panthers get the W today.  As great as Cam has been playing the defense has stepped it up this season for the Panthers.  I think they rush Ryan a lot this game and get him to throw earlier then he wants to.

Chargers (4-3) vs Redskins (2-5) – RG3 and Rivers will be the headlines of this story.  I picked this game because this also has the potential to be a shoot out.  Rivers is putting together a pretty good season and will look for win number 5 in DC today.  Whether RG3 will be RG3 is the question.  We have seen glimpses of his brilliance at times but him and the Redskins as a team have not played consistently for four quarters straight.  I think today they do that and win against San Diego.

Fantasy HELP!!!!

I know there are a lot of byes this week and I probably will lose this week because of them smh ……but nonetheless here are some good plays this week

QBs- Brees, Cam, Romo, Luck, A-Rodge – If your feeling desperate – Foles and Campbell are available , think they have decent games

RBs – ( First off how disappointing has it been for RBs? ) – Shady, Charles, Lynch ,Forte,  Morris / DMC and Ray Rice I like this week as well

WRs- DEZ, Jordy, Desean , Josh – other Solid plays this week – Antonio, TY and Garcon

TEs- this will always be the same, there are only a few Studs I hope you have one

Defenses – any teams playing the Jets, Browns, Texans, Bills  ( i know that’s horrible but that’s reality)
