NFL Games of the Week 7/ FF Tips

As you all know I have been previewing the upcoming the top NFL games for each week.  No not all of them, I do have some type of life but each week I preview 3 games which I feel everybody should look forward to.  So lets get into it shall we? Oh yea the Giants are still searching for win numero uno. ( I still can’t get over this)

Broncos vs Colts – Does it get better then this? The anticipation for this game is ridiculous and even that is an understatement.  Manning who spent the majority of his career in Indy will return home for the first time with his undefeated Broncos.  He will go head to head with his successor Andrew Luck coming off a previous loss to the Chargers. The game was something everybody had marked on their calendars to begin with when the season started.  However with comments made from owner Jim earlier this week makes it that much more interesting.  For lack of better words Jim basically said he was disappointed with the results of the Peyton era even though he boasted numerous 10+ win seasons and a Superbowl.  With that said I look for Peyton to throw for at least 5 touchdowns and a ridiculous amount of yardage. Giving Peyton arguably the best QB in the game right now motivation just isn’t a good idea. ( I am playing Manning in FF this week , I know I am doomed )

Cowboys at Eagles – Romo has had a great year so far with the Cowboys. This weekend he will play rival Philly with Nick Foles under center.  The hammy injury according to Vick is worse then he initially thought so he will be sidelines unless is needed for emergency purposes.  Each team is 3-3 and a win will put them above .500.  And because its a divisional game each team knows the significance . Now the weakness of each team is their defense or lack there of.  So I expect a shootout , and who doesn’t love a shootout?  Foles in his debut last week looked good and he will look to continue with his positive production.  I actually like the Cowboys in this game because Romo is more experienced and has a better arsenal of skilled players for the pass. But if each quarterback doesn’t throw for 300 yards I will be disappointed.

Bengals at Lions – This game features some of the best wide outs in the league.  Calvin Johnson (Megatron) for the Lions and A.J Green (No Nickname) for the Bengals both will look to be featured heavily in this game.  Both teams have a winning record at 4-2 going into week 7. While the Lions have a better offense , the Bengals have a better defense, so it will be interesting to see how the two offset.  I will give the Lions the nod here at home and I will tell you why.  The X factor is Reggie Bush and I think he has an great game.  If they can get him in the open field i.e ( Screens etc)  I think it can be for great gains eventually opening up the field for Calvin later on.

 

FF TIPS FOR WEEK 7

RBs – AP IS PLAYING GIANTS (THAT IS ALL ) ALSO LIKE SHADY, CHARLES, AND ALFRED THIS WEEK ( IF JOHN STEWART IS AVAILABLE IN YOUR LEAGUE MIGHT WANT TO ADD HIM) OUT OF THE TWO BILLS ONE WILL HAVE A GOOD GAME AND SO FAR IT HAS BEEN FRED

WRs – DESEAN AND DEZ (LOOK ABOVE) I LIKE BMARSH , JORDY, TORREY S, JOSH G, AND HILTON MAY JUST CATCH A BOMB IN THE INDY GAME, EMMANUEL IS A SNEAKY PLAY FOR PITT THIS WEEK AS WELL

DEFENSES – MY THEORY IS RATHER SIMPLE FOR DEFENSES ANY TEAM PLAYING THE GIANTS, JETS, RAMS AND TEXANS

Rose for 30

YES YES YES the NBA season is almost here, and I can’t wait.  This year will be even better then last year. I know that’s hard to imagine but trust me its true.  One of the biggest stories that will be covered is the return of MVP Derrick Rose in Chicago.  I know it is just preseason but from what I have seen, he looks good.  And by good I mean he hasn’t lost a step.  In fact it almost looks like he gained one, and put on more muscle in the off-season.  According to him he is even jumping higher as well. ( That I don’t believe )  Chicago made some noise in the playoffs last year and you can believe they will make even more now with him in the lineup.  I was a big critic last year when he decided not to play and so far it looks like it was the right decision. Here are the highlights of his 30 point performance in a preseason win over the Pacers.

Week 6 Preview/ Fantasy Tips

Each week  I have been highlighting the stories of this year’s NFL season and one story remains the same.  The New York Giants still haven’t won a game.  I won’t continue to criticize the team because at this point it is useless. Instead lets get started with week 6 and the games of the week.   At week six we start to realize which teams look like they will be playing after the season ends.  And after looking at the schedule I have decided which games I will consider the GAMES OF THE WEEK. I only pick three because why waste time on the games that will be essentially boring or even worse blowouts. ( JAX vs Denver)

NOLA vs Patriots – This game features two of the greatest QBs in the game in Brees and Brady.  Nola has one of the most high powered offenses with Brees behind center, they get the job done.  Brees has Graham who is arguably the best TE in the game and a nightmare to opposing defenses.  So you can count on Brees looking to go his way early and often.  Brady a three time champion has found a way to get wins this year.  The team plagued with injuries and off season issues don’t have an all star receiver corp like usual but one piece remains and that is TOM. The team was expected to have Gronk back this week but reports have stated that won’t be the case.  However he will have Amendola who he can count on to make plays and move the chains.  The Saints (5-0) will defeat the Patriots (4-1) today and I say this because of the injury to Wilfork.  He provided defensive pressure on the quarterback and I don’t think Brees will get rushed and the last thing you want to give him is time.

Packers at Ravens – The Packers are 2-2 this year, go figure.  They will travel to Bmore and face a stingy Ravens defense.  Granted the defense isn’t the same anymore with the loss of Ray Lewis and Ed Reed but they are still one of the elite physical teams in the league.  I look to see how they will defend the Packers against the pass because this is no secret, they like to throw.  On the other side of the football , Superbowl MVP Joe Flacco will be at the center of attention.  With a huge extension during the summer, the Ravens turn to him to lead them to victory each week.  Especially because they have not been able to establish the run like they have in previous years.  And if this turns into a shootout with Rodgers the Ravens might have to pass way more then they want to.  I think the Ravens win this game because it will be won on the defensive side, and at home I think they cause turnovers.

Redskins at Cowboys – After watching Romo have arguably the best game of his life and still lose it will be very interesting to see how he bounces back against Washington today.  This is a divisional game which adds drama from the beginning.  Also the Redskins are coming off a bye week so they have had time to prepare for this game.  The Division is very weak this year (Giants) so each win can help these teams at a birth for playoffs.  I am looking to see how RG3 and Morris perform this game. Last year the two were a force to reckon with but not so much this year.  RG3 is recovering from an ACL injury and quite frankly the scouting report is out on Morris who rushed for a 1000 yards last year.  I think the Cowboys win this game, they have a freak of nature at WR in Dez Bryant.  I think Romo has another great game and the Cowboys will score enough points to win.  Neither team has a great defense so expect a lot of offense this game.

 

FANTASY TIPS FOR WEEK 6

Last week I said to start Blackmon – This week  I am telling you the same.  Yes they are playing the Broncos …..but Garbage points count

Moreno – Moreno is the RB for the team that has Peyton and they are playing Jax – Have him in your lineup has been consistent all year

Sleeper Alert- Hankerson of Redskins – I will keep an eye on him for weeks to come. Granted I am saying this expecting RG3 will start to play like RG3 again.
